Namah shivay. That Baba ji is Lord Shiva’s emissary is a widely known & realised fact. And so it follows from this that physically, if one were to be nearest to Shiva while being in someone’s company, the company has to be that of Avdhoot Baba Shivanand ji. Mahashivratri thus couldnt get better than this year with all sadhaks being offered the opportunity to be with one of Lord Shiva’s ambassadors. Baba ji is holding ‘Rhythm of the Universe’ shivir at Nagpur which will obviously delight the sadhaks of Nagpur. But the reason why every one else too should rejoice is that the shivir will be webcast live at live.shivyog.com AND a recorded telecast of it will be aired on Aastha channel from 10:00pm IST ie on 11th March. Please pass this pleasing news to all. Namah shivay
That which permeates all, which nothing transcends and which, like the universal space around us, fills everything completely from within and without, that Supreme non-dual Brahman — that thou art. – Sankaracharya
That in whom reside all beings and who resides in all beings, who is the giver of grace to all, the Supreme Soul of the universe, the limitless being– I am that. – Amritbindu Upanishad
133. “As for the well-known example of the hallucination of a snake in a coil of rope the rope is real and the snake is unreal.
134-135. “Even after the true state of affairs is known and the hallucination of a snake dismissed, there is still the reality of the rope (which contains the potentiality of the recurrence of the same hallucination in the same person or in others). The danger is always there until the rope is recognised to be of and in the Self.
136. “Then objectivity totally ceases, and pure knowledge alone remains. There is thus a complete annihilation of duality.
137. “The sense of duality persists because there is the conviction of the purposefulness of the objective world. But such purposefulness and even durability is experienced even in dreams. – Tripura Rahasya
JUNAID, a famous mystic, was walking through the market-place with his disciples. They saw a man dragging a cow by a rope. JUNAID told the man to wait and asked his disciples to surround them.
“I am going to teach you something” and continued “ Tell me who is bound to whom ? Is the cow bound to this man or the man is bound to the cow?” The disciples said without hesitation “of course the cow is bound to the man. The man is the master. He is holding the rope. The cow has to follow him wherever he goes. The man is the master and the cow is the slave.”
“Now watch this” said JUNAID and took scissors from his bag and cut the rope. The cow ran away from the master. The man ran after his cow.
“Look, what is happening.” Said JUNAID. “Do you see who the Master is? The cow is not at all interested in this man. The cow in fact, is escaping from this man. This is the case with our MIND.
All the non-sense that we carry inside is not interested in us. WE ARE INTERESTED IN IT, we are keeping it together somehow or the other. We are going mad trying to keep it all together under our control. The moment we lose interest in all the non-sense filled in our head, the moment we understand the futility of it, it will start to disappear. Like the cow, it will escape and disappear. “
There is no need to stop the mind from thinking non-essential things. All one needs to do, is to become disinterested in its mumbo jumbo. Then the rope will be cut.
That is the real meaning of SANYAS, to become disinterested in the mind. That is the real meaning of VAIRAGYA. It has nothing to do with renouncing the world but everything to do with the cutting of the rope to the mind.
Namah Shivay,
From the Master has posted an excellent 6 part Videos of Babaji explaining various aspects about Shivyog Sadhanas like Sri Vidya, Durga Shaptashati, Healing, dos and donts for a Shivyogi. Some of the questions which Babaji has lovingly answered are as follows:
The Videos as follows:
Q: May one have more than one spiritual master?
A: Who is a master? He is the Self after all. According to the stages of development of the mind the Self manifests as the master externally. The famous ancient saint Dattatreya said that he had more than twenty-four masters. The master is one from whom one learns anything. The Guru may be sometimes inanimate also, as in the case of Dattatreya. God, Guru and the Self are identical.
A spiritually-minded man thinks that God is all-pervading and takes God for his Guru. Later, God brings him in contact with a personal Guru and the man recognises him as all in all. Lastly the same man is made by the grace of the master to feel that his Self is the reality and nothing else. Thus he finds that the Self is the master.
